Christine Huskisson
A Kentucky-based painter working in oils with visible underdrawings, reinterpreting Renaissance works and exploring female presence in art history. She trained formally in Renaissance drawing, which shows through in her exposed underpainting.
Clare Yearwood
Nevis-based for over thirty years, Clare paints from nature in water-mixable oils, which give her the texture she likes to work with. She doesn't have a personal website, but you can find her on Instagram and Facebook.
Linda Werthwein
A fine arts painter based in Beaufort, North Carolina, working in oils and watercolor. Her portfolio spans abstract, oceanic, equestrian, tropical, portrait, coastal, and floral subjects.
Aisha Chiguichon
A Canada-based painter working in acrylic and mixed media as Capture the Soul Creations. Her bold compositions explore identity and diversity.
Howard Pain
A retired graphic designer, art director, and gallery owner from Collingwood, Ontario, Canada, Howard painted representational and abstract subjects across various media. He published Historic Charlestown, a book of watercolor paintings documenting historic buildings; he has since passed away.
Malene Barnett
A Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist and textile surface designer exploring Caribbean heritage through ceramics, textiles, and pattern. A Fulbright grantee to Jamaica, she also founded the Black Artists + Designers Guild.
Marina Simmons
A Basseterre-based graphic artist, painter, and fabric designer, self-employed in fine art since 1995. She also designs clothing through Marina Island Clothing.
Vaughn Anslyn
A Nevisian artist working in portraits, murals, and street art, with pieces exhibited as far as London, Miami, New York, and Dubai. His painting Mosaic: A Woman of Power in an Everyday World entered the permanent collection at the OAS Art Museum of the Americas in Washington, D.C. Read more via the St Kitts Nevis Observer.
Sara Whale
A London-based glass artist working through sandblasting, acid etching, screen-printing, and painting. Her practice spans both gallery pieces and site-specific commissions exploring light, color, and form.
Kirk Mechar
A self-taught painter working between Lunenburg, Canada and Nevis, known for large-scale, intricately patterned work. His pieces are, in the words of one critic, "diced and reconstructed to achieve a dramatic, evocative effect."
Deborah Tyrell
A fabric artist based in St. Kitts and Nevis, telling stories through stitch and appliqué across series on aging, Caribbean women, and island life. She founded Charlestown Gallery in 2013 and now serves as its Board Chair.
Usibakaiye Agbeyegbe (Siba)
British and Nigerian-trained, now based in Nevis, Siba left a career in healthcare law to blend West African strip-weaving traditions with upcycled ceremonial garments. She founded Looms of Africa and held her first solo exhibition, Cognition, at Charlestown Gallery in November 2023.
Dennis Richards
A St. Kitts-based artist who worked across painting, sculpture, graphic design, and music, including logo and stamp designs for Caribbean institutions spanning several decades. In 1992 he sold a painting to Oprah Winfrey; Dennis has since passed away.
